The Vegas pool has become an institution like the Vegas show and Vegas buffet. One of the city’s most opulent and luxurious pools has recently opened, but unless you know where to look for it, you’d never know. Because it is well hidden from the preying eyes of the busy tourist jam that Vegas is famous for.

Some of our readers might remember the old Wild Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall that was situated just south of the Flamingo on the Strip. It closed a few years ago to make way for a massive renovation and updating, the property has recently re-opened as the very luxurious boutique hotel branded as The Cromwell.
In the same way that airlines compete with onboard service, seat pitch, and frequent flyer programs, Vegas hotels compete teeth-to-teeth on buffets, restaurants, shows, and of course pools. The management of the new Cromwell decided to make their pool a major draw, and they have truly created an oasis on the top level of the building. But unless you know it exists, you’d never find it.
Although we were not staying at the Cromwell, we were curious as to what their new pool looked like, and asked if it would be possible to have a quick look. The pool management are very friendly and allowed us to have a brief viewing, and we can report that their pool is indeed one of the nicest Vegas pools we have ever seen. It basically takes up a good portion of the upper roof deck, and there is still plenty of room for lounging and relaxing, with a very generous supply of outdoor sofas, chairs, and loungers. So you take the elevator up to the top floor of the property, and an oasis awaits.
Mature and leafy palm trees provide a fabulous tropical atmosphere as well as shade for those who require it in the hot desert sun. There is also an undercover bar, as well as a second tier outline level with private relaxation areas overlooking the pool. At pool level there are also a number of smaller sub pool areas and private lounging areas, with big and comfy outdoor sofas for the ultimate in outdoor relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the strip down below.
As the Cromwell pool is on the top of the building, it provides an absolutely drop dead amazing view of the Strip, specially Paris and Bally’s next door, and Bellagio across the street. There cannot be too many other Vegas pools that offer such an amazing view! The whole ambiance of the Cromwell pool is fantastic and they have done an amazing job in creating this oasis.
As the Cromwell pool is new, they are hoping to build word-of-mouth referrals and are keen to get the word out that their pool is so amazing. We were advised that guests staying at other Total Rewards partner properties were welcome to use the pool Monday through Thursday, but you might want to call the Cromwell to make sure this invitation is still valid. On Fridays through Sundays they operate a paid admission to their weekend pool party scene, which does see the pool become quite busy.
